The Steps of Migrating Trust Wallet Extension to Metamask

Trust Wallet is an emerging crypto wallet that is slowly gaining popularity in the crypto wallet industry. Though it does not mean that the wallet is on top and the first choice of the users. If you are a newbie, then you can visit the official webpage of Trust Wallet and get to know some of its features and see if you want to use it or not.

But some users of Trust Wallet are looking for ways to import their existing Trust Wallet Extension account to the MetaMask. So, if you are also one of them then you are in the correct place because given in this blog we will guide you about the steps to do so. Scroll the content further to know the steps.

Importing steps of the Trust Wallet

We can import your Trust Wallet account with the 2 available methods:

Method 1

To migrate your Trust Wallet, you should follow the following steps:

  1. Open your Account on Trust Wallet Extension and then copy your secret recovery phrase.
  2. Then click open the MetaMask Extension or application as per your choice.
  3. If you have not installed the MetaMask wallet yet, then download it first.
  4. On the interface of MetaMask you will be provided with the two choices. And the choices would be to ‘Create a Wallet’ and to ‘Import an Existing Wallet’. Since you want to import the wallet then select option two.
  5. In the provided text fields paste the Secret Recovery Phrase (SRP) of the Trust Wallet account copied in step 1.

This is the easiest way to import your wallet, but if your wallet was not migrated with this step then you can try the next method.

Method 2

The prerequisite of the first method was your Secret Recovery Phrase but this method will your account’s private key to migrate your Trust Wallet. The migration steps under this method are:

  1. Copy the private key of the Trust Wallet.
  2. Now open the MetaMask application or extension.
  3. After this you will have to press the logo of MetaMask that is being displayed on the screen.
  4. Then a drop-down list would appear from the list you will have to select the option of Import Wallet.
  5. A text box would be shown on the screen and the field enter the private key you have copied.

Summing it Up!

Hopefully, your wallet has now been successfully imported to MetaMask. But do keep in mind that after the wallet has been migrated it might take a few minutes or hours (if the network is slow) to load your wallet balance. Do not expect the balance to get loaded immediately after the migration. But if even after waiting for the whole day the balance is still not reloaded then you will have to get in touch with the customer support team of the MetaMask or with the support team of Trust Wallet Extension.
